Predominantly operating in the residential and commercial sectors, we are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our team.

Main Roles & Duties

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of a wide range of structural projects across the Residential and Commercial sectors. You’ll work closely with Architects, Contractors, and Clients, contributing to projects from concept through to completion.

  • Prepare structural designs and calculations for residential and commercial buildings.
  • Undertake structural analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, etc.).
  • Produce detailed drawings and specifications in collaboration with CAD/Revit technicians.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and Building Regulations.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling and reporting.
  • Mentor junior staff where appropriate.

Experience, Qualifications & Atrributes

  • Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or Master’s degree (MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ UK-based experience in structural engineering, with a focus on both Residential and Commercial projects.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership with IStructE (preferred but not essential).
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Job Particulars & Benefits

  • Full-time, permanent role. Office based, though hybrid available.
  • 8.30am-5.00pm Monday – Friday (1 hour lunch) [flexible]
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, plus Christmas period (as a family focused company you will never have to work Christmas Eve, or the period between Christmas and New Year). 
  • Membership at Liscombe Park Health Club.
  • Private Health and Dental Care.
  • Salary: negotiable subject to experience.
  • Expected start date: asap
