Predominantly operating in the residential and commercial sectors, we are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our team.

Main Roles & Duties

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of a wide range of structural projects across the Residential and Commercial sectors. You’ll work closely with Architects, Contractors, and Clients, contributing to projects from concept through to completion.

Prepare structural designs and calculations for residential and commercial buildings.
Undertake structural analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, etc.).
Produce detailed drawings and specifications in collaboration with CAD/Revit technicians.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments.
Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and Building Regulations.
Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling and reporting.
Mentor junior staff where appropriate.

Experience, Qualifications & Atrributes

Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or Master’s degree (MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years’ UK-based experience in structural engineering, with a focus on both Residential and Commercial projects.
Chartered or working towards Chartership with IStructE (preferred but not essential).
Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
Strong understanding of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and construction methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Full UK driving licence.

Job Particulars & Benefits

Full-time, permanent role. Office based, though hybrid available.
8.30am-5.00pm Monday – Friday (1 hour lunch) [flexible]
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, plus Christmas period (as a family focused company you will never have to work Christmas Eve, or the period between Christmas and New Year).

Salary: negotiable subject to experience.
