100 per cent, yes. You need a structural engineer to design and calculate all the crucial elements of a new house build. They make sure it’s safe, stable, ticks all the boxes, so it’s built to last, from foundations to roof.
-
In our opinion the earlier an engineer is appointed the better. An Engineer can suggest efficiencies in the design to provide a more cost-effective and sustainable solution. At dbstructural this is something we look to do as standard on any project.
-
Any building work requiring a completion certificate from Building Control will require calculations produced by a suitably qualified Engineer.
-
A completion certificate would be obtained once all the building work has been signed off by Building Control. This says that all building work has been completed to the specification on the drawings.
-
No. This is something provided by the local council or an Building Control or an approved inspector. Engineers will provide drawings with specifications and calculations to building control and answer any on site queries.
